College Academics Program

The College Academic Program prepares students for college and supports those students taking college simultaneously while enrolled at JETS. Instruction is geared towards the unique needs of each student and is designed to provide competitive academic skills for JETS students considering and entering higher education.

California High School Proficiency: Students not possessing a high school degree can prepare for a California High School Equivalency Certificate issued by the California Department of Education by studying for the High School Equivalency Test, or HiSet. Test preparation instruction at JETS is student paced, with individualized attention and small group teaching designed to maximize progress and adapt to unique student learning styles. Students must be 17 years of age in order to take the HiSet Exam. The HiSET exam measures the academic knowledge and proficiency equivalent to that of a high school graduate. It covers five content areas: Language Arts – Reading, Language Arts – Writing, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science.

Academic Counseling: Students and their parents will receive guidance helpful in choosing a college career path, including information about different college degrees, funding options, and job market options for degree candidates.
