Electrician: wiring and cables

ELECTRICIAN: WIRING AND CODES - HOURS: 120

This competency-based course is designed to train students in the electrical wiring trade. Instruction includes national, state, and local codes to provide guidelines and information needed to insure safe installation and operation of electrical equipment and wiring. This course also includes principles of electrical wiring and wiring systems, materials, light and power systems, methods of installation and grounding, motor control devices, power metering and meter testing. The competencies in this course are aligned with the California High School Academic Content Standards.

PREREQUISITES:

Enrollment requires a background in and knowledge of the electrical trade.
