JETS Yeshiva Introduces New Digital Department; Q&A with Rabbi Boruch Krinsky in Crown Heights
The Jewish Educational Trade School (JETS), the innovative Los Angeles-based yeshiva that combines Torah learning with real-world skills, is introducing a new Digital Department that includes courses in digital marketing, advertising, video editing and web development.
Located on a beautiful 9-acre campus in Los Angeles, California, JETS is a yeshiva, high school and technical college that gives boys ages 16-20 the tools with which to lead productive and fulfilling lives through a well-balanced program of Judaic studies, vocational training, and recreational activities.
Now in its 14th year, JETS offers a world-class Smicha ordination program led by the leading Dayan of the West Coast, Rabbi Elchonon Tauber. Additionally, JETS offers trade certificates in areas such as plumbing, EMT and construction, as well as high-end courses in real estate, accounting and finance. This coming year, they are excited to expand their offerings to include digital skills.
Their goal is simple: To empower their students to succeed in accordance with their G-d given talents while standing tall as proud and involved Jews. They also seek to ensure that rather than be dependent upon their communities’ generosity, JETS students will be the facilitators of that generosity.
JETS’ mission is inspired by the mandate “chanoch l’na’ar al pi darko.” Instead of trying to mold boys to fit into the system, JETS has created a unique educational program that is customized for each student. JETS helps students find the niche that they excel in, and then gives them the tools to succeed in that area. By giving youth the skills they need to survive and thrive in the real world, they empower young men to make a difference and lead meaningful lives. As a testament to their success, JETS alumni have found secured, highly lucrative positions in finance, real estate, construction and aviation, to name a few.
JETS faculty and staff members are committed to the academic and professional success of every student. But beyond that, they create a warm, nurturing learning environment where the students feel loved and accepted. The 5:1 student-teacher ratio ensures that all students receive the attention and guidance they need to excel to the best of their abilities.
